Twice as nice. Now that the Houston Astros have advanced to the fall classic, we have two, two, two MOTs in one (World Series).
The Astros beat the Yankees on Saturday, 4-0. Although Alex Bregman did not perform as well as he and we would have liked (1-for-4 in the clincher, .167 batting average overall), he did make this outstanding play in the field with runners on first and third and one out in the fifth:
The LA Dodgers kept Joc Pederson on the roster for the Series, cutting one of my favorites, Curtis Granderson, to make room for him. I wonder how much playing time Pederson will get?
The showdown begins tomorrow night at 8 p.m. EST. This is noteworthy because the games will be played out of the eastern time zone. So while viewers like me will still be subjected to games that will probably end after midnight, those in LA will have to contend with late afternoon traffic, not to mention the players in late afternoon sunshine.
At some point, if I can find the time, I’ll post more about Jews in the World Series over the years.Tags: Alex Bregman, Joc Pederson
